The Hancock Historical Museum is sponsoring a tour of the Hancock County Barn Quilt Trail on Saturday, June 20th from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Participants will learn more about Hancock County’s agricultural heritage and this popular folk-art movement. The chartered bus tour, led by Hancock County Barn Quilt Trail originator and artist, Barb Gabriel, will include more than 35 barn quilts and over 100 miles on the scenic country roads of Hancock County. The day trip will provide a number of stops, including Tom & Pam Rader’s historic country schoolhouse; Barb Gabriel’s workshop, where many of Hancock County’s barn quilts are painted; the certified Ohio Century Farm of Mark & Drena Metzger; and the lavender labyrinth garden of Dave & Jan Reese. Space on the tour is limited and advanced reservations are required. The cost of the day trip is $55 for Hancock Historical Museum members, $60 for nonmembers. Lunch and refreshments throughout the day are included. All reservations and payment must be received by June 15th.
